Electric vehicle maker Tesla announced the appointment of Brandon Ehrhart as general counsel and corporate secretary.

Ehrhart brings more than two decades of experience in corporate legal departments, including 20 years climbing the ladder at Dish Network. He started as an associate corporate counsel and eventually was promoted to general counsel.

During his ascension, he held roles that included corporate counsel, senior corporate counsel, associate general counsel, and deputy general counsel, handling “general compliance matters” during that time, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Before Dish, he served as an associate general counsel at EchoStar Corp. and began his legal career as an associate in the corporate and securities department of law firm DLA Piper.
