Compliance officers do not have easy jobs. They’ve got to navigate ever-changing regulations, follow trends in their own industry and other parts of the world, while also managing the internal culture of their organizations. It’s a lot of responsibility and a lot of pressure.
But you know what’s funny? Job satisfaction among compliance officers is consistently high, as compliance officers have reported in six years of Compliance Week’s Inside the Mind of the CCO survey. Between 92-95 percent of compliance officers responding to the Inside the Mind of the CCO surveys over the years say they love their job. Why is that? What is it about being a compliance officer that is so rewarding?
Today is National Compliance Officer Day.
To note the occasion, Compliance Week asked compliance professionals to write short columns about what lights them up, how they got started, and why they stay in the profession.
Check out the columns (link to Compliance Day tab here) by nearly a dozen compliance professionals discussing why they do what they do.
At noon ET today (Friday, Sept. 26), Compliance Week will host an informal gathering for compliance professionals on CW Connect to chat about the day. Join us!
