The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) gave its approval to T-Mobile’s acquisition of competitor UScellular. The move came a day after T-Mobile announced it had dropped its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, a frequent target for Trump’s administration in government and private business.
The DOJ announced the closing of its investigation by the Antitrust Division on Thursday, allowing for the $4.4 billion acquisition to proceed. T-Mobile began the process to acquire UScellular back in May 2024.
