President Donald Trump has issued an executive order slamming state-led efforts to address climate change, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and other environmental, social, and governance (ESG)-related laws.

In an executive order issued Tuesday, Trump ordered Attorney General Pam Bondi to “take all appropriate action” to stop the enforcement of state laws related to climate change or “involving ‘environmental, social, and governance’ initiatives, ‘environmental justice,’ carbon or ‘greenhouse gas’ emissions, and funds to collect carbon penalties or carbon taxes.”
