Governance professionals are increasingly regarded as being more critical to the success of their organizations, according to a recent survey which found that two-thirds of respondents thought the influence of the governance function was growing.
Research by professional body The Chartered Governance Institute U.K. & Ireland (CGIUKI) also found that practitioners are becoming more involved in delivering advice directly to boards. Two-thirds (66 percent) of respondents said supporting board information quality and decision-making is becoming more important, while 59 percent identified board and executive succession planning as an area of growing responsibility within their organizations.
