Robotic devices and power inverters produced outside the US are now on the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC’s) Covered List of prohibited imports. The move confirms a trend towards expanding national security controls into broader product categories that will affect many more compliance teams than previously.
The most recent extension to “foreign-produced advanced robotic devices” and power inverters followed a decree that these “pose unacceptable risks to the national security of the United States or the safety and security of United States persons.”
