Zillow and Redfin have settled with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and five states over allegations they engaged in anticompetitive activity.

Zillow and Redfin, two separate businesses based on online platforms that post apartment rentals and real estate for sale, made an illegal agreement in 2025 to dismantle Redfinโ€™s apartment rental listing business, the FTC alleged in a September 2025 complaint, filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Zillow and Redfin are two of the nationโ€™s largest online apartment rental listing services.
