For moviegoers, this summer is a season of sequels. That’s also the case for legislators looking for a follow-up to last year’s Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act, also known as the JOBS Act.

Earlier this month, the House Financial Services Sub-committee on Capital Markets held a hearing intended to review the progress, or lack thereof, on completing JOBS Act rulemaking and to discuss additional ways to โ€œreduce barriers to capital formation.โ€ Sub-committee Chair Scott Garrett (R-NJ) has since positioned that discussion as the first step in what is being called โ€œJOBS Act 2.0.โ€ A second hearing will be held in July as a precursor to potential new legislation.
