CatchMark Timber Trust has appointed Lesley Solomon as general counsel and corporate secretary, a new position. She joins the company from law firm Alston & Bird, where she was a longtime partner and had represented the self-administered and self-managed, publicly-traded timberland REIT.

Solomon and Todd Reitz, senior vice president for Forest Resources, have been elected as executive officers of CatchMark by the company's board of directors, the company also announced.

Solomon joined Alston & Bird as an associate in 1998 and became a partner in 2006. She represented public and private companies as well as investment banks in equity and debt financing, specializing in working with real estate investment trusts like CatchMark and financial institutions.

Reitz oversees all management operations for CatchMark's various ownership interests in over 528,00 acres of timberlands located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. He joined CatchMark in 2017 after more than 20 years in the timber industry, working for Weyerhaeuser, Plum Creek, and Stone Container Corporation.
