Burnt toast in the morning: There’s a theory around it.  

You accidentally burn the toast you were making for breakfast. You can eat the charred bread, or you can make new toast and add a five-minute delay to your already-packed day. It’s a trivial event, but it’s also a proverbial fork in the road on whether you let a small inconvenience upset you or reimagine a positive domino effect stemming from it. You can use those extra five minutes to breathe or check on a friend, or you can consider the possibility the delay saved you from a greater tragedy, like a car accident.
