Compliance officers at healthcare and pharmaceutical companies who are waiting for government rules on disclosure of payments to medical professionals will wait even longer. Donald Berwick, director of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), said in a recent letter to Congress that the organization is delaying proposals that would address payment disclosures made by pharmaceutical companies and hospitals to medical professionals.
