UAL Corporation, the holding company whose primary subsidiary is United Airlines, has named Thomas Sabatino senior vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary, effective March 29. He will report to President and CEO Glenn Tilton.

Sabatino joins United from Schering Plough, where he served as executive vice president and general counsel and oversaw the company’s global law department as well as a number of other functions during a period when the company nearly doubled in size.
