He relates the psychology of a company in the context of an FCPA enforcement case to the five stages of grief that individuals go through—denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance—and explains the effect an investigation has on the day-to-day operations and top management of the company. Chapman also details how a compliance officer can help the company come out stronger at the end of the FCPA process.
