Major accountancy firms in France are under investigation for anti-competitive practices. The French competition watchdog embarked on a series of “unannounced inspections” and removed documents relating to audit and reporting on Jan. 13.
A press release for the Autorité de la Concurrence, stated that a judge had given its investigation services permission to carry out the raids “at the premises of companies suspected of having implemented anticompetitive practices in the sector for the audit and certification of financial and non-financial data and reports.”
