Due to the ever-increasing threat of cybercrime, the European Banking Federation and Europol are teaming up to boost cooperation between the financial sector and law enforcement.

The EBF and Europolโ€™s European Cybercrime Centre, known as EC3, this week inked a memorandum of understanding to provide closer cooperation between the two sectors. The agreement will help link the European Unionโ€™s top financial institutions through the EBF with the cybercrime divisions of police in the 28 Member States. EBF represents about 4,500 banks and financial firms.
