Since the start of the Trump Administration, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has discreetly closed, or brought to an early end, several Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) investigations and resolutions. This second article in a two-part series is a continued analysis of those FCPA case closures.
SEC FCPA cases
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) FCPA enforcement action web page lists zero cases for calendar year 2025. The last year the SEC listed zero enforcement actions in a calendar year was 1999. Additionally, in April, the SEC’s FCPA Unit’s long-standing Chief Charles Cain and Deputy Chief Tracy Price quietly departed – news that was leaked to Reuters, not announced by the agency.
