The UK Online Safety Bill will legally oblige online service providers to swiftly remove illegal and harmful content. The UK Office of Communications (Ofcom), will be empowered to fine non-compliant organizations up to 10 percent of their qualifying revenue.
US organizations will be in scope if their online services are used by a significant number of UK residents.
Similarly, under the European Union Digital Services Act proposals, any online service provider with a significant number of users in Europe will potentially be in scope.
