Biotechnology company LuminUltra Technologies, Inc. (LuminUltra) has agreed to pay $685,051, revamp its export compliance program and refrain from exporting for three years to settle allegations it unlawfully exported water testing equipment to Iran, according to an administrative enforcement settlement with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).

The penalty stems from a single unauthorized shipment valued at roughly $33,681—less than 5 percent of the total fine—highlighting the agency’s tough stance on export control violations.
