United Benefit Advisors, an independent employee benefits advisory organization, has appointed Danielle Horstman Capilla as chief compliance officer, effective immediately. Prior to joining UBA, Capilla was an attorney and senior writer analyst for the health law division of Wolters Kluwer Law and Business. Details inside.

Restaurant chain Famous Dave’s of America has promoted John (Jack) Beckman as vice president, chief accounting officer, effective as of Feb. 16. Previously, Beckman was senior director, chief accounting officer of Famous Dave’s. Details inside.

Huron Consulting Group has appointed John Kelly as chief accounting officer and assistant treasurer, effective immediately. Kelly most recently served as controller since 2012. Details inside.

Cathy Engelbert has been elected to chief executive officer of Deloitte, becoming the first female CEO of a major audit and consulting firm in the United States. Additionally, Mike Fucci has been elected to the position of chairman of Deloitte’s board. Engelbert and Fucci will both begin their new roles on March 11. Details inside.

News Corp. has named David Pitofsky as general counsel and chief compliance officer. Pitofsky, succeeds Gerson Zweifach, has been deputy general counsel and deputy chief compliance officer of News Corp since 2013. Details inside.

TeamHealth Holdings, a provider of outsourced physician staffing solutions for hospitals, has appointed Matthew Tormey as chief compliance officer, effective Feb. 11, 2015. In his most recent position, Tormey served as vice president of compliance and security at Health Management Associates. Details inside.

Digital Turbine, an end-to-end mobile solutions provider, named James Alejandro as chief accounting officer and controller, effective Feb. 27. Alejandro, who joins the company from Dell, will assume the principal accounting and controls duties, among other responsibilities, and report directly to Chief Financial Officer Andrew Schleimer. Law firm Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg has added David DeMuro as senior counsel in the firm’s securities litigation and regulatory practice. DeMuro joins Neal Gerber Eisenberg after serving more than 35 years in leadership roles at American International Group and Lehman Brothers, as well as the Securities and Exchange Commission. Food and beverage company Dean Foods has appointed Marc Kesselman as general counsel and corporate secretary, effective as of Jan. 26. He assumes this position from  Rachel Gonzalez, who stepped down in September to accept a similar position at a publicly traded company. Details inside.

The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, a national federation of 37 independent, community-based and locally operated Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies, has promoted Scott Nehs to the role of general counsel and corporate secretary. Nehs was promoted to his current position after serving for three years as deputy general counsel and assistant corporate secretary. Details inside.
