BOSTON, MASS., December 14, 2015 – Compliance Week has named Bill Coffin, an award-winning journalist with 22 years experience as a writer and editor, as its new editor-in-chief.

Compliance Week, published by Wilmington plc, is an information service that reaches more than 80,000 financial, legal, audit, risk, and compliance executives with online news, a print magazine, weekly electronic newsletters, proprietary databases, executive roundtables and industry-leading international conferences.

Coffin, a resident of Oakhurst, N.J., is an expert in corporate compliance, risk management and the insurance industry. Prior to joining Compliance Week, he was director of content, communications and media relations for Starr Companies, a global insurance and investments company led by industry icon Maurice R. Greenberg.

Previously, Coffin was group editorial director for Summit Professional Networks, a leading provider of professional development services for the insurance, financial, and legal industries. He managed all editorial content for Summit’s insurance media brands, and won numerous national journalism awards.

Coffin has also held editorial positions with the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. (RIMS), the American Re-Insurance Company (later rebranded as Munich Reinsurance America) and A.M. Best, a provider of credit ratings and financial data products for the insurance industry.

Coffin, a published novelist, holds a B.A. in English from Washington & Lee University in Virginia.
