Biden cyber strategy plan calls for big businesses to step up

The Biden administration will soon decide whether to draft additional cybersecurity rules for power plants, hospitals, and other critical infrastructure.

The National Cybersecurity Strategy Implementation Plan (NCSIP) wants the private sector to shoulder more responsibility for protecting the nation from cyberattacks. In some cases, this could require new rules and laws.

The “biggest, most capable, and best-positioned” businesses must assist in mitigating cyber risks, the White House said in a fact sheet published July 13.
