The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), in collaboration with AIG and the Internet Security Alliance, has just released its latest issue from the Director's Handbook Series, Cyber-Risk Oversight.

The handbook is organized around five key principles to help directors enhance their oversight of cybersecurity. It covers a wide range of board-level considerations, including disclosure issues, access to expertise, and risk appetite calibration, and includes tools such as self-assessment questions and sample board cyber-risk report dashboards.

Cybersecurity is no longer an emerging issue. Major headlines about breaches in both the public and private sectors have put the issue on every company's–and every board's–agenda. Cyber-Risk Oversight provides practical guidance for corporate boards as they work with management to safeguard their companies’ critical data assets.

NACD’s Cyber-Risk Oversight handbook is featured on the Department of Homeland Security website.
