MarketAxess Holdings, which operates an electronic trading platform for fixed-income securities and is the provider of market data and post-trade services for the global fixed-income markets, has appointed Oliver Huggins as global chief risk officer, effective April 15.

In his role, Huggins will manage the global enterprise risk management function at MarketAxess and report to Chief Financial Officer Tony DeLise. Huggins will also join the company’s global management team.

Huggins joins MarketAxess from London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), where he served as chief operating officer, group risk and head of financial risk. He was responsible for providing leadership to the group risk team, ensuring the consistent application of the risk framework across all divisions and functions. Furthermore, he was integral to the design and implementation of the group’s risk strategy, leading the activities of the risk function in respect to M&A activities and coordinating group-wide responses to pressing external events.
