Harvard University announced Eileen Finan as interim general counsel.
Finan has been a university attorney since 1997.
The move came as Vice President and General Counsel Diane Lopez announced plans to retire after 30 years of service to the university. She served as general counsel since 2019; earlier, she was deputy general counsel for eight years.
