Nonprofits Insurance Alliance (NIA), a group of cooperative 501 nonprofit insurance organizations, announced the appointment of Steven Salar as chief risk officer.

In this role, Salar will be responsible for compliance, risk management, internal audit, employment risk consulting, loss control, and member support. He has previously held executive positions at Bank of America and QBE Insurance Group.

Prior to joining NIA, Salar was an agency owner at Allstate Insurance.
