Marsh, an insurance brokerage and risk management fir, has appointed Jim Holtzclaw as senior vice president of cyber-security consulting and advisory services at Marsh Risk Consulting (MRC). In his new role, Holtzclaw will work with a team of experts to implement MRC’s cyber-security consulting strategy, capabilities, and services in North America and support international client projects.

Holtzclaw joined Marsh this month from Waverley Labs where he served as the managing partner and general manager. Prior to Waverley Labs, he was the general manager of federal programs for CyberPoint International, providing consulting support to multiple U.S. government customers through the delivery of cyber operations services, cyber forensics and malware analysis, cyber intelligence, and vulnerability assessments. He also has held senior-level positions with Booz Allen Hamilton and Northrop Grumman Information Technology, focusing on cyber programs with each.

In addition to the private sector, Holtzclaw served 21 years in the military in various roles as a signal officer. He completed his career as the director of the Army Computer Emergency Response Team (ACERT) with a worldwide mission of ensuring the cybersecurity and integrity of the Army’s IT networks and enterprise. During his tenure as director of ACERT, he led early efforts in the development and implementation of cyber operations plans, procedures, and programs for the Army and Department of Defense that are still in use today.
