Netwrix, a provider of IT auditing software that delivers complete visibility into IT infrastructure changes and data access, has announced the release of Netwrix Auditor 7.1. The new version simplifies investigation of past incidents and provides a complete audit trail for compliance audits. It also supports NetApp Clustered Data ONTAP to ensure monitoring of malicious activity into all storage appliances and NetApp clusters.

Netwrix Auditor is an IT auditing software that delivers complete visibility into IT infrastructure changes and data access. Netwrix Auditor provides actionable audit data about who has access to what, any changes made, and when and where each change was made. This helps organizations prevent security breaches caused by insider attacks, pass compliance audits with far less effort and expense and keep tabs on what privileged users are doing in the environment. Netwrix Auditor supports monitoring of the broadest variety of IT systems, including the entire Microsoft environment, VMware, EMC storages and NetApp filer appliances.

Key features of Netwrix Auditor 7.1 include simplified access to historical audit trails allows users to investigate security incidents and identify their root cause, even if it lies in the distant past. The extracted audit data is available for all stakeholders and external auditors throughout the whole investigation period for analysis. Another new feature is support of NetApp Clustered Data ONTAP, which gives customers complete visibility into data access and changes made to files while they leverage all the benefits of the new NetApp version, including its cluster mode.

Netwrix Auditor 7.1 also includes new predefined reports: the Account Permissions report shows who has access to what, across all file shares and storages, to prove that employees’ privileges correspond to their business roles. Additionally, the Netwrix Auditor System Health report informs about Netwrix Auditor performance to ensure continuous monitoring of critical systems.
