OGE Energy has appointed David Hauser to the company's board of directors and as member of its audit committee, effective as of July 15.

Hauser previously was chairman and CEO of FairPoint Communications, a provider of communication services. Prior to that, he spent 35 years with Duke Energy, culminating in his holding the leadership position of group executive and chief financial officer from 2003 to 2009.

In other board news, the company announced the retirement of Robert Kelley, who has served as a director since 1996. Kelley's retirement took effect July 15.
