Platform Specialty Products, a global specialty chemicals company, today announced the appointment of John Capps as general counsel and secretary. He will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Rakesh Sachdev.

Capps joins Platform from consumer products company Jarden, where he most recently served in a similar capacity until its merger with Newell Brands earlier this year. Previously, Capps worked with American Household, until its acquisition by Jarden in January 2005, and as a private lawyer with the firm Sullivan & Cromwell.
