According to Transparency International, in 2014 Spain ranked 37/175 on the Corruption Perceptions Index, which means that the country has a lot of work to do in order to rebuild public trust and promote accountability and transparency across its sectors. But on July 1, 2015, Spain joined the international fight to stam put corruption by adopting a corporate compliance defense.
