For over a decade now, ISS' Securities Class Action Services has released its annual "Securities Class Action Services 50" -- a list of the top 50 law firms based on the total settlement amounts each law firm produced for investors in the calendar year. Specifically, the SCAS 50 for 2013 ranks the law firms based on "the total cash amount made available to investors for recovery for all final settlements occurring in 2013 in which the law firm served as lead or co-lead counsel, and where a settlement fund resulted."

 

According to the most recent report (released July 16, 2014), the top five law firms in the SCAS 50, and their total settlement amounts for 2013, were as follows:

 

Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann ($3,966,050,000)

Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd ($3,587,723,611)

Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check ($2,973,100,000)

Kaplan Fox & Kilsheimer ($2,455,100,000)

Labaton Sucharow ($927,800,000)

The ISS report also ranks the law firms by the number of final settlements they achieved in 2013. The top 3 were as follows:

 

Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd (30 settlements)

Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann (11 settlements)

Labaton Sucharow (11 settlements)
