Valvoline, a company that provides motor oil and automotive lubricants, said this week in a securities filing that it has appointed David Scheve as controller and chief accounting officer, effective as of Oct. 10.

According to a job description that Valvoline posted in July, the chief accounting officer role reports to the chief financial officer and is responsible for financial reporting, internal controls over financial reporting, and accounting policies and procedures globally, all while creating a culture of compliance and financial discipline across the organization.

Scheve joined Valvoline from Southern Graphic Systems, a supplier of design-to-print brand development products and services, where he started in 2007 as its global corporate controller and was most recently its chief financial officer and vice president of finance, responsible for, among other things, overseeing all finance and accounting staff globally.
