The German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) is part of a growing focus on corporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance by governments and regulators.

In effect since January, the law requires companies with more than 3,000 employees in Germany to implement a comprehensive risk management system for human rights and environmental regulations across their supply chain. This will become more stringent on Jan. 1, 2024, when the act will expand to encompass companies with 1,000 or more employees. Reporting to the German government will be required no later than May 2024.

With deadlines and potential fines looming, experts from ProcessUnity and Deloitte will give firsthand insights into the due diligence obligations being placed on companies by the LkSG. We’ll look at how you can approach this challenge efficiently and effectively, with guidance on:

  • Human rights strategies;
  • Risk management governance and the role of the compliance departments;
  • Risk assessments and prevention;
  • Complaints and remediations; and
  • Reporting obligations.
