Global holding firm The Marygold Companies announced the appointment of Timothy Rooney to head the company’s financial technology startup, Marygold & Co.

Rooney will serve as president of Marygold & Co. in addition to his responsibilities as Marygold chief compliance officer.

Rooney is part of the founding leadership group at Marygold & Co., having joined the company in 2020 to create and lead its advisory services unit. Starting his career in the banking sector, he has more than 20 years of experience creating and launching successful financial services organizations and products.

Previously, Rooney held a 10-year career with Nationwide Investment Management Group, where he served as vice president, product development. He also was vice president, strategy for Sun America Retirement Markets and headed strategic initiatives for Pacific Life Insurance Company.
