Microsoft published a public report covering its artificial intelligence (AI) endeavors and steps it is taking to make the controversial technology safe.
The report, released Wednesday, describes the company’s disclosures about its AI program as going beyond what it and other major technology companies agreed to with the White House last summer.
“[T]his report enables us to share our maturing practices, reflect on what we have learned, chart our goals, hold ourselves accountable, and earn the public’s trust,” wrote Microsoft Vice Chair and President Brad Smith and Chief Responsible AI Officer Natasha Crampton in a blog post.
